The free skate she took was an unbeatable loss. However, her gold medal resulted from the performance she put in both the compulsory figures (short program) as well as the mandatory figures. Witt was the first time a repeat winner in women's figure skating since Sonja Henie. Hall of Fame Witt competed in the Lillehammer Winter Games in 1994 following a career that was successful acting. Though she failed to get a single medal she was awed by fans even with the fact that she finished seventh. The year 1995 was the year that Witt received her induction into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame.
